Rush Events
The goal of these events is to get to know you, the rusher, and for you to get to know us, both as a house and on an individual basis. The whole week is a dry rush, which means no alcohol for brothers or rushes, but there will be plenty of entertainment as the ladies of different sororities will be stopping by to say hello each night. We will also provide free food and non-alcoholic drinks. Be sure to look for us tabling at the quad during the preceding week and the week of rush as well, or just stop by the house at any time and say hello. For more info on the fraternity check out the rest of this site and also our nationals website at www.sae.net. I know I speak for all my brothers when I say that we are looking forward to meeting you.
Be sure to continue to check this site for updates. Come see what it means to be a brother in Sigma Alpha Epsilon! Hope to see you this spring.
What is RUSH?

Rush is the word used when a fraternity seeks potential new members. The Greek organizations are open to all rushes and often host daily events to attract rushes and act as ice breakers to socialize and get know one another. During the course of the week, the fraternity may hand out "bids" which is an invitation to become a pledge in the fraternity. If you choose to accept a bid, you enter a probationary period of pledgeship in the fraternity-this is the first first step in becoming a Greek member.
Why Rush Cal-Kappa ΣAE?

Brotherhood:
College gives people the opportunity to make friendships that will last a lifetime. Joining SAE enhances this opportunity through the bonds of brotherhood. Brotherhood is the basis of fraternity and without it SAE is nothing. SAE has the strongest brotherhood tallying the highest numbers in initiated members out of all fraternities worldwide. With about 50 active members here at UC Davis, our brotherhood is currently the largest on campus.
Community Service:
Cal-Kappa SAE allows you to participate in many activities that will enhance our community. We are famous for our Boxer Bowtie Event which raises thousands of dollars every year for the Children's Miracle Network, our national philanthropy. Our other philanthropic events are aimed at supporting the local Davis community. Listed are some of our philanthropy events from the past year:
- Davis Senior house clean ups.
- Annual Boxer Bowtie
- Davis Police Department Safety Day
- BBQ Masters for Kappa Alpha Theta's "Rock the Casa" which supports their national philanthropy.
- Pi Beta Phi "Arrow Jam" which supports their national philanthropy.
- Delta Delta Delta "Big Bats"
- UC Davis Tree Sale
- Relay for Life
- Support to the Alpha Phi sorority foundation.
Social:
- SAE participates in many events with the 8 social sororities on campus: Kappa Alpha Theta, Alpha Chi Omega, Pi Beta Phi, Delta Delta Delta, Alpha Phi, Delta Gamma, Kappa Kappa Gamma, and Chi Omega, holding several mixers, social events, and philanthropic events each quarter.
- We also hold a formal dance every fall and spring quarter, where brothers bring a date to such places as Lake Tahoe, Reno, Santa Cruz, etc. dine in a fine setting, and share some memorable laughs.
